Today’s huifang’s birthday!! Im making use of this to wish her a really happy birthday, and fangi, if you’re reading this, let me tell you that you’re an ultra good fren and I love you loads!! And you aint BORING. I LOVE talking to you. XD

Anyway, I had one of the most interesting and extraordinary time of my life today. What was expected to be a dull and dreary VSEPR project meeting turned out to hold much more stuffs than usual. I woke up this morning at 10, dreading the fact that I have to leave the house to go to sembawang mrt for that darn project. As usual, the tardy queen me decided to leave the house only 10 minutes before 11 and would have been much later if my gracious daddy had not offered to give me a ride there on his silver carriage.

When I reached Sembawang, flustered and worried that I would be the latest, I realized, to my astonishment, that I was the earliest! And Li Qiao was not even there yet! I was rendered speechless. After walking back and forth along Fairprice for some time, Sherf came along and we both waited for qiao together. Pager was the latest to come. Qiao merely happened to mention that she drank pure blended soya bean milk every weekend when sherf pounced on those words with a greedy glint in her eyes. I could already see the alert signals beeping in her mind. Needless to say, the next thing she asked was, “Can I drink it too?” I could almost imagine her salivating over the very thought of drinking her favourite soya bean milk and licking her the thick white foam of leftover milk off her lips after draining an entire glass of it.

The complain queen Sherf then whined that she was starving and grumbled over the fact that we had to walk to qiao’s home. Spoilt brat, or as pager says, si xiao hai. No, I take it back, due to an image at the back of my mind of me being strangled to death by that kid. I realized how spick and span qiao’s house was when I first stepped onto the white marble floor and saw how neat her living room was. The plasma TV with its huge screen also got me all envious.

After qiao instructed her maid to cook me and sherf a bowl of instant noodles each, we all went crawling into qiao’s study room where there is aircon. It was a total relief from the hot and humid weather outside. In a short while’s time, the door opened and qiao came in with a large plate of watermelon. It was succulent and thirst quenching-a perfect appetizer. Within minutes the entire plate was being gobbled up by this bunch of ravenous kids. Okay, the plate was not gobbled up; we ate up its contents only. But I bet that if the plate was an edible plate, we would most probably have eaten that too.

Next up was the curry flavoured instant noodles. Me and sherf sat in front of 2 bowls of steaming noodles and eyed it longingly for a second before digging into it and savouring it. It tasted delicious but as sherf had said, it would have been better if the weather was cold and rainy as the noodles sliding down our throats would have warmed our stomachs up considerably and made us feel all warm and fuzzy inside. The feeling of love! It didn’t take us very long to finish it and while we were eating, pager decided to give the stepping machine a try to burn off some calories. She succeeded in doing about 300 of it.

We went back into the room to finish up the last bit of chem VSEPR project. I signed in to msn and talked to my idiotic sis for a while. Turns out that she was secretly using msn on the laptop in the lab at science centre. Naughty girl. After we’re done with it, pager and qiao went out to have their full course meal with rice while me and sherf could only stare and watch them eat with our faces going green with envy. Eventually we ate quite some bit of their food. Ooh the prawns were so yummy and sherf got addicted to the veg and kept dropping them all over the table. Me and sherf took turns on the stepping machine while one of us was eating away. We aimed to do at least 1000 of it. In the end we managed 1500. Cool. But we only burnt out about 150 calories each? After all that sweat.

Since we had nothing to do after the completion of the project, qiao suggested we go cycling. Naturally, both me and sherf objected vehemently due to the fact that we cant cycle to save our lives. Ultimately, we still agreed to go with them since we didn’t want to stay alone in the house. While qiao was unlocking the bikes, sharp Sherf immediately “booked” the passenger seat for qiao’s bike. This left me with no choice but to either walk, or take peizi’s bike. Peizi, who has totally no experience in ferrying people. Peizi, who claims to be very stable.

Initially I didn’t really dare to hop onto pager’s bike. It was too risky, I thought. So, I decided to jog at the pace of the bicycle. Sadly, I overrated myself. Obviously I couldn’t run that fast. After running for some time and making a lot of noise in those flip flops of mine, I finally decided that this would not work. Bravely, I told them that I would attempt to hop onto pager’s bike. The first few minutes was really terrifying for me. The way the bicycle wobbled about dangerously, threatening to throw me off any moment. I clung on to the seat tightly. A short while later, the ride became smoother, although we were way behind qiao and sherf. I reminded peizi that safety was more important, in case she tried to catch up with them by driving at an accelerated speed. Slowly I began to enjoy the bumpy and unstable ride the feeling of the wind blowing against my cheeks. We stopped at a park like place and me and sherf tried to no avail to learn how to ride the bike. Several times I thought I could finally do and but the next thing I knew, I swerved into the side. I got rather frustrated so I gave up trying to learn and proceeded to the swings area. The swings was pretty fun and I enjoyed it quite a lot. Sadly we didn’t spend as much time as I would have liked over at the swings. I guess it was before the weather looked really bad and there were lightnings. The worse thing was, the entire swing thing was made out of metal. If any lightning were to strike around that area, we’d be the first to die.

On the way back we had to go down a pretty steep slope. Qiao and sherf breezed down it without a problem at all and in no time, they were way ahead as usual. On the other hand, peizi’s bike wobbled, wobbled and wobbled….Feeling rather worried, I asked in chinese: “Are you stable or not? Must be stable leh…” To which she replied frantically: “I’m not stable!” And the next thing we knew we were screaming all the way down that tiny but steep slope. I let out a whoosh of relief and realized how thrilling the ride had been. When we reached the void deck, we all decided that we haven exactly had enough of the fun. Thus Qiao suggested that we go for another round at a different park with more slopes. Obviously, we agreed.

If I had thought that the tiny slope was fun, this was much better in comparison. And it was also there that I had a life and death experience. I braced myself when we went down the first slope but it was so smooth that I was kind of surprised. But I should have known better when it came to peizi’s cycling skills. The uphill part suddenly went haywire. When the bike started going left and right and left and right, I was still pretty much clueless about what was happening and thought that pager was just steering the bike. But that was only until the part where she looked just about to crash into the kerb. And then she swerved and we came to a stop. Behind us came qiao and sherf and they described what they saw to us. Looked like what we did sounded fairly dangerous. Then peizi confessed to closing her eyes to get energy to go upslope. I nearly strangled her. I had so innocently entrusted my life to her and believed wholeheartedly that she would do a good job ferrying me and what happened? She nearly killed us. But being magnanimous, I decided to forgive her and have faith in her once more.

After a few more slopes of smooth riding, I began to relax some more and decide that my choice was correct after all. The next thing I knew we were going up the last slope and peizi kept swerving until- BANG! We crashed right into a coconut tree! I got like 4 big bruises after that. But it was funny. I think me and peizi practically laughed our way through the entire ride. All in all, it was an exhilarating, thrilling, stimulating, breathtaking, spine-tingling and electrifying journey.

Then we went back to qiao’s house to have freshly brewed soya bean milk which tasted really heavenly and yummy. It’s practically the best soya bean milk I’ve ever drank. How I wish I could drink that everyday. Later on we had dumplings too! Some of them were wrapped by us so it didn’t look too good. But the taste! Ah….i dun think I’ll ever enjoy the school’s dumplings as much any more.

Anw, yeah, its pretty late so many details were cut down…haha want the full story should come and fun a search in my memory. XD

Our Promise (:
